Free QuillBot works but frustrates you on purpose. The 125-word paraphrasing limit means constant copy-paste cycles. Premium at $8.33/month (billed annually) or $9.95 monthly removes all limits. Compared to Grammarly Premium at $12/month, QuillBot costs less and offers paraphrasing that Grammarly simply doesn't have.

There's also a team plan for organizations, though QuillBot clearly targets individual users first. The Chrome extension and Microsoft Word add-in work well enough, though they occasionally lag on longer documents.

Where It Struggles

QuillBot sometimes over-paraphrases, changing meaning when you wanted a light rewrite. The Creative mode can produce bizarre results. And while the grammar checker is decent, it misses nuanced errors that Grammarly or ProWritingAid catch. The plagiarism checker exists but only checks 20 pages per month on Premium. Academic users doing heavy research might need a dedicated plagiarism tool alongside it.
