Unleashed launched in 2009 in Auckland, New Zealand. Access Group (a UK-based enterprise software company) acquired it in 2019. Over 5,000 businesses use it, heavily weighted toward manufacturing, food and beverage, wholesale distribution, and health products. The ANZ and UK markets are its stronghold.

Batch Tracking and Traceability

This is where Unleashed earns its keep. Every product movement is tracked by batch number, expiration date, and serial number. Food producers trace ingredients from supplier receipt to finished product to customer delivery. If a recall happens, you identify every affected batch and customer in minutes. The traceability reporting meets compliance requirements for food safety, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical businesses.

Manufacturing That Works

BOMs, work orders, and production scheduling are well-implemented. Multi-level BOMs handle products with subassemblies. Disassembly orders break finished products back into components when needed. Waste and by-product tracking help calculate true production costs. The production calendar gives a visual timeline of what's being made and when.

The Xero Connection

Unleashed was built in Xero's backyard and the integration shows. Purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, bills, and inventory valuations sync perfectly. If your business runs on Xero, Unleashed is one of the cleanest inventory add-ons available.

Where Unleashed Falls Short

Ecommerce is not its strength. Shopify integration exists but it's not as polished as Cin7 or Ordoro. There's no Amazon integration at all — a significant gap. The B2B portal is basic compared to Cin7's. And at $349/month, it competes directly with Cin7 Core, which has broader channel coverage.
