What You Won't Get

Toggl Track deliberately avoids employee surveillance. No screenshots. No keystroke logging. No app tracking. If your goal is monitoring whether remote workers are actually working, look at Hubstaff or Time Doctor instead. Toggl believes trust-based tracking leads to more accurate data, and they've got a point — forced tracking tools often get gamed.

Pricing Reality Check

The free plan is genuinely useful for small teams. Starter at $9/user/month adds billable rates and project time estimates. Premium at $18/user/month gets you project forecasting and scheduled reports. Enterprise runs $27/user/month for SSO and priority support. Not the cheapest, but the adoption rate is higher than most competitors because people actually use it.
